Who can understand the love of a devoted father? As a young father (29), I find myself filled with a flurry of emotions that are sometimes incomprehensible and difficult to identify. I feel love as I see you two grow. I feel angst because you’re growing faster than I would like sometimes. I feel excitement because growth brings newness. I feel worry because this world is hard, and sin makes it harder. I feel hope because Jesus is bigger and I pray for your salvation. All of these emotions and more are constantly cycling through my mind all together, at any given moment. Through this, I determine myself to remain constant and devoted to being a father that you need and enjoy. I know there will be failure. I know there will be triumph. It’s how I respond to those ends of the spectrum that I hope I will be your example of a man that you’ll join with one day.
That being said, hello Month 35. We’ve traveled, we’ve enjoyed ourselves, we’ve met princesses, we’ve seen loved ones from other lands, we’ve seen a home run, we’ve explored Candy Land, and we said cheese to the lens of mommy’s Canon.
