Ballerinas, Bakers, Birthdays, and Beaches oh my! I know I added a fourth to the common omen of “oh my” jingles, but that just shows how much we’ve jammed in since the last time I wrote about you.
BALLERINAS AND BAKERS
Your imaginations are flourishing this month! You both just love to pretend, and I love it all. When I come home from work, I don’t know if you’re in “hide and seek mode”, dressed up in tutu’s, or making some kind of artsy craft for me to adorn in my office. Gracen, it’s such a joy to see your creative side. One morning, whilst Gwen was still asleep, you and your amazing mom baked cookies for your sis and I! She treasured that one on one time with you. And you loved it! Being mommy’s little baker has been a highlight this month, and I love being your taste tester. Gwen, it’s so fun seeing your entertaining side. You love to dress up in tutus and costumes. You probably twirl 75 times a day, and that’s not an exaggeration. When “I Know You” comes on from Sleeping Beauty you immediately belt out whatever lyrics you know and do this cute dance where you take your right hand and hold your tutu, and hold your left hand high and spin. It’s your move, and I love how you’re sticking with it!
BIRTHDAYS AND BEACHES
January is “birthday month” in our house. Your mommy, your nana, and your papa all have birthdays and we party. Especially with mommy’s. She loves her birthday, and since I love her, I love it as well. This year, I took us all to Victoria Beach in Laguna Niguel, CA. The worth was perfect for January, and we explored the shore! On the way there, your mom and I needed to use the restroom stat. ASAP. You name it. The only restrooms near us was this five star resort, so I convinced your mom to act like we were regulars, and we went passed the lobby, walked passed millionaires, and did our thing. We laughed so hard! You cuties were probably the only reason we got passed all the clerks without being questioned. Down at the beach we found this old castle/tower/lighthouse that was built in the 1910’s. The path getting there was pretty rough, and the incoming tide didn’t help. But your mommy is a champ and we made it all the way over while carrying some 30 pounders (you two).
OH MY!
That’s the phrase that goes through our heads these days. You two are doing some silly things now that you’re toddlers. Gracen, while I was chasing you down the hall, you came to a quick halt, asked me to stop, picked up a cheerio, ate it (gross), and then asked me to resume chasing you. Gwen, you’re talking up a storm and constantly plan out what the next Disneyland trip will look like. Daddy rides Dumbo with Gracen on the yellow one. I ride with mommy on pink Dumbo. Then we do It’s a Small World, then you break out in singing said song, then you continue. Then we do ponies (King Arthur’s Carousel) then we go on Ariel and daddy rides with Gracen on a purple shell and mommy rides with me on a pink shell. And so on and so on!
Happy 34 kiddos! In two months you’ll be three, and I hear mommy is planning a donut-themed birthday party, so I’m definitely there.
