It was quite the Christmas! Your mom (who is simply amazing by the way) came up with a fun daily activity countdown to get you two stoked about the Christmas season. She aptly named it: #averyhartleychristmas (Hashtags were the thing in 2015, you may or may not know what they are when you read this in 2024). Here’s some of the activities she came up with:
-Shaving Cream Snowmen
-Gingerbread Houses
-Thank you treats to our trash and mail men
-Christmas movie nights
-Recreating the Nativity Scene
-Baked cookies for nana and papa
-Christmas light expeditions
– and more!
I loved Christmas because this was the first year that you both really lit up at Christmas! You loved your presents, we taught you to say thank you, yours truly assembled everything (including a swing set, motorcycles with instructions in Chinese, and even a teepee).
By far my favorite Christmas tradition was the 12-night Christmas story night from DaySpring. We sat down, the four of us, and assembled the Nativity Scene day-by-day and taught you both the true meaning of Christmas.
I can’t wait until you finally ask Christ to save you. I pray for that day often. Being my kids may be pretty cool, but being His Kid is the best and only way to enjoy this life.
Also, you officially graduated into “Big Girl Beds” and our hearts were broken that your journey from baby to toddler is imminent.
