Month 26 came and went! Since your dad is a youth pastor, summers are pretty hectic. But I’m so glad we get do this ministry together as a family. This has been a month full of cute faces. I love the different expressions you make in just a 24 hour period (and your mom does an awesome job at capturing them (see above). It’s a joy to be kept on our toes with the laughter, tears, screams, smiles, yawns, funny noises, and pleas for “uppy’s” [Translation: “can you please pick me up?”]. I’ve noticed that you both love our attention, and although we may get tired every once and a while, your mom and I wouldn’t have it any other way! One day, in a few hundred months or so, it will be us wanting your attention. So we cherish the highs and lows of parenting two year olds.
To be honest, you both are so easy to love! Just one look at you, and we’re reminded of the blessed responsibility to parent, lead, teach, and discipline you both. All of this is fueled by the love of a Heavenly Father that I can’t wait for you two to get to know and love! It’s not a responsibility that makes me think “we have to parent you” it’s a “we get to parent you”. Of all the millions of kids on Earth, God has been so kind to give you to us for a little while.
This month, we enjoyed my birthday, celebrating our 7th anniversary, and taking 100+ people to summer camp! It’s been so fun watching you be flexible with the different trips, and seeing you encounter new things and places. You’ve both done a fantastic job at learning more skills like trying to sing your ABC’s and sing “Happy Birthday”. You’ve also started drawing circles, and love using sidewalk chalk. I cannot wait to sling your artwork up on my office walls! Now I know why dad’s keep that stuff.
Love you both, love you so. I love you both so much.
