This month has been so rad. Thanksgiving was a ton of fun, and we’re approaching Christmas soon! Comparatively, last year you two were so little you didn’t care about Thanksgiving feasts or Christmasy things. This year is completely the opposite! You chowed down for Thanksgiving at Danny and Hallie’s last gathering before they head to Colorado. You two are also obsessed with Christmas lights! Mommy loves to decorate the inside of the house, and I string up the lights on the outside. When you wake up, you both point at all of the unplugged Christmas lights in the house and say “uh-oh” until one of us turns them on. It’s as if the day can’t continue if they aren’t on! You also love to point at the giant Santa each day across the street at our neighbor Frank’s house. You both wave hi, and after a few attempts at trying to wriggle your way out of the safety of our hands and into the street, we usually play on the lawn. It’s a daily ritual these days. You also love Christmas carols! When you girls get antsy in the car, your mommy and I have to break out into Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, followed by a serenade of jingle bells topped off with a version of Frosty the Snowman with incomplete lyrics and no sense of pitch by either of us.
GRACEN: You have some new words to entertain us! You now say please, blue, ho ho ho, help, and up. You still say QUACK all of the time, which I wrote about in Month 17, and you’re still doing it! It’s a ton of fun and we don’t get tired of it though. You also love Macaroni and Cheese and for some reason you don’t like meat at all anymore. What’s up with that girl?! You love to dance and spin, and usually it’s Pandora Disney Radio that gets you spinnin’. Something else that we’ve been noticing…you’re quite the organizer and thinker. You love to place toys back where they belong, and do a great job at putting little puzzles in their places.
GWEN: You say some new words as well! You can say papa, nana, ho ho ho, bye bye, up, and sissy. You did the cutest thing ever a few days ago! First, here’s some context. Almost daily your mommy and I will ask the both of you about animal sounds. You both have mastered the sounds of ducks, kitty cats, dogs, snakes, and cows. I tried to pull a fast on on you and asked you what a Zebra says…without skipping a beat you made this adorable blubberying noise by putting your lips together and made up a whole new sound! It cracked us up. Unlike your sister, you’re constantly on the move and you’re not content on just a normal pace. For you…it’s always a fast walk/run and it keeps us on our toes. We love it, but wouldn’t mind if you slowed down just a bit! You’re also so obedient to us! When we ask you to throw something away or grab something, you go right to doing it, and we love to watch your little mind process it all.
WHAT WE DID: This month we enjoyed spending 3 consecutive days at Disneyland. In the back of my mind I thought it was going to be an exhausting tough time battling crowds for 72 hours, but it wasn’t bad at all! You’re mom and I are a great team at the Happiest Place on Earth, and we enjoyed every moment of it. Because you two are now a little bigger, we took you on a new ride as well! We took you on Pirates of the Caribbean and you loved it (we think…it’s pretty dark in there). Your favorite attractions at Disneyland continue to be Disney Junior Live on Stage, It’s a Small World, and the Grizzly Bear Park.
Lord willing, next month I get to Christmas! Love you girls, see ya on Month 21 (or if we’re being technical, I’ll see you when you wake up at 7am).
Love you, DADDY-O.
