It’s your half birthday!  That means we’re halfway to 2, and I get nausea just thinking about how fast it’s going. I can’t believe that you’re 18 months old. This month has been exciting to watch. We splurged and got Disneyland passes! But you probably won’t remember it, and at the rate Disneyland is charging, we won’t be taking your when you can remember it. Don’t worry, this month you’ll see some photographic proof (mommy always said it’s about the pictures).

What you love about Disneyland:
It’s a Small World
Petting Zoo
Casey Jr.
The ducks in swimming in ponds
Monster’s Inc Ride
Disney Junior Live Show
And Goofy’s Playhouse

What you hate about Disneyland:
The Characters (except Gracen, you don’t mind them)
The Carousel (again, except Gracen, who loves it)
The Crowds (oh wait, that’s just mom and dad)

The “touch n go’s about Disneyland:
Which means, you love it sometimes, hate it the other times
Dumbo
Storybook Land
Flick’s Roundabout

Besides Disneyland, we also took you to Lombardi Ranch (the local pumpkin patch). Mommy took 4 gigabytes of photos, but unlike last year, you two have learned how to run amok and go wild over pumpkins. Needless to say, it was difficult getting that “money shot”, but you know mommy, she wins again!

Fun Stuff About Gwen:
You’re so verbal lately! We can’t always make out the words, but it’s sure fun guessing.
You love to wave at everything and everyone, If we ask you to say hi, your wave always brings a smile to people.
You love to make the sounds of ducks and trains.
You love apples, a lot.
You’re learning to help mommy and daddy grab things and throw them in the trashcan.
You sign duck, milk, thank you, please, more, and dog (and beginning to say them too!)
You also love to run…a lot.

Fun Stuff About Gwen:
You’re so verbal too! Instead of signing, you love to talk more.
You’re so happy and chill (which means you’re down for anything)
You love singing E,I,E,I,O
You face makes this cute scrunchiness that I keep trying to capture on film.
You love to say hi, uh-oh, more, apple, and please.
You like to sign please, thank you, milk, and more.
You’re a fan of apples too.

What’s been so fun this month, more than the Disneyland and the pumpkins, is simply watching you two play with each other. It brings me so much joy. In fact it makes me wonder if that’s how our heavenly Father feels when we treat each other with kindness and respect. I love you too! Bundle up, it’s winter time (or like mommy calls it, “more pictures outside” time).

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. (John 13:34)
