ONE – SIX: So I took your mommy to a big birthday trip because this time last year, she found out she needed to be on bed rest just around her birthday time. Because she was such a trooper on missing her 26th birthday, I wanted to start off her 27th with a bang. This picture is you three at Monterrey State Beach. We took a pit stop there, tried some yummy pizza, stayed the night at a quaint lodge, and toured the beach and wharf.
SEVEN: On the way to San Francisco we took a detour to Santa Cruz! We toured this amazing beach, and enjoyed a beautiful walk and looked high and low for someone to take our picture. But when we did find a volunteer, Gracen made this face the whole time! Stranger Danger. Gracen has her radar on point!
EIGHT: Also at Santa Cruz is a lovely 1800’s lighthouse. We fed you guys in its shade, and took some photos. Here’s one of them.
NINE: On our way to our final destination, Daddy had to take a quick right hand turn to Emeryville. Pixar Studios is located there. We tried to get a tour, but to no avail. So, instead of leaving empty handed, we snapped a shot at the entrance, and got weird looks from Pixar employees. I couldn’t help but think if the creator of Nemo or Buzz drove past me. I can’t wait to introduce you two to some of these movies!
TEN – ELEVEN: We made it to San Francisco! These two shots are at the S.F Zoo. It was alright, you were a little too young to enjoy it, but hey, we had a wild time. Get it?
TWELVE: Sometimes when you have twins, and it’s your birthday dinner, and you know the twins might not sit through the whole dinner, you just gotta order P.F Changs to go and eat it on the hotel bed.
THIRTEEN – FIFTEEN: We took the longest walk of our lives! We started at the Fisherman’s Wharf, went to Chipotle, and then made the trek towards the Golden State Bridge. It was miles, but so much fun. We saw cool people, got beeped at by bike riders, and fed you two in some windy conditions. Hint, if you two ever have kids, never feed in windy conditions. Oh yea! On another feeding, near the wharf, we fed you two on a park bench, and these three elderly Russian ladies oogled and awed over you two. We didn’t really understand them, but just nodded our heads at whatever it was. It was a hoot. If you ever go to Russia, let daddy know, I’m pretty sure we were offered a villa there somewhere.
SIXTEEN: Happy birthday Nanny! We went over to grandma’s house, and hung out with the cousins. It was so cool getting a picture with all four of you and Nanny!
SEVENTEEN: Puffs! These were your first ever puffs, and the beginning of a whole new ball game: Pick The Puff Up From The Floor.
EIGHTEEN – TWENTY: Mommy has a tradition. It’s called, dress you up, get the camera, and place you in the front door, and shoot some pictures. These photos were just that…oh, and them mommy was looking so pretty so daddy stole the camera and captured all three of you. So far, this is my favorite of last ten thousand photos or so.
TWENTYONE: Mommy was changing Gwen, and Gracen just sat there so content waiting her turn. This photo captures your disposition so well.
TWENTYTWO: Stop getting so big! Photos like this remind me that time is slipping by. It was just yesterday that we fed you on our knees.
TWENTYTHREE: Not sure of the circumstances surrounding this photo, but that face! I couldn’t help but include it this month.
TWENTYFOUR – TWENTYSIX: USA! USA! USA! It’s Olympic time (Sochi, Russia 2014). Noel’s old Barbie made an appearance to cheer for gold.
TWENTYSEVEN: Your first time on grass! And also the first time I can’t tell which is which. Gracen…is that you on the left?
TWENTYEIGHT: While daddy was in Mexico, mommy and nanny hosted the first annual Valentine’s Day Baby Crawl! Gwen 1, Gracen 0…but there’s awlays next year. Go get her Gracen.
